Eko 2012 – 18th National Sports Festival

Hola mi amigos

Just a quick one to let you know that I am one of the photographers for the 18th National Sports Festival being hosted in Lagos over the next couple of weeks (yeah!). There are a huge range of sporting events taking place across Lagos including at the newly renovated Teslim Balogun Stadium, National Stadium, Agege Stadium, Rowe Park Sports Hall and Unilag. I am very excited to see what our great country has to offer in terms of athleticism and general sportsmanship (is that a sexist term?). Tonight is the Opening Ceremony at the Teslim Balogun Stadium in Surulere and from the rehearsals I saw last week, it looks to be pretty awesome. I’m sure it will be broadcast on NTA and / or Channels – will post the details if I find out more.

You can find out more about the games over on the official Eko 2012 website and the schedule of events, right here.

I’ll be posting sneak peeks of the games over the next week. I still haven’t decided which games to focus on – am thinking athletics, football and maybe one of the traditional Nigerian sport – so be sure to let me know if you have any favourites.

Have an awesome week.
