Photowalk at Lagos Bar Beach

Last year I was part of a 52 week photo project, which sadly I didn’t finish due to all my travelling (boo!) but one of things we did do was take a walk to Bar Beach in Victoria Island to get inspiration for that week’s photo. It wasn’t long before our cameras attracted the attention of some young boys (some of them clearly aspiring models – lol) who couldn’t resist providing entertainment for us. We didn’t complain. We hung out with them for about an hour and got up to all sorts. Enjoy. 🙂

The first 3 culprits turned up and instantly started posing for us. 🙂

I love this one – I have no idea if they are brothers or just friends but they are clearly close.

And when the others saw how much fun these 3 were having, the rest of the football team descended on us.

I love this boy so much – so much swagger and all he’s wearing is a dirty tshirt and shorts…goes to show – it’s all about your attitude. I should get him to show my grooms a thing or two about posing – lol.

Nothing more uplifting than young kids having a good time. It’s the little things in life eh.

The boys decided they wanted to do something to show that they were proud Nigerians…so sweet!

One of the nicer beach vendors who agreed to pose for us. Aren’t those beads beautiful? Get them on Bar Beach 🙂

Another favourite, so photogenic and incredibly shy – definitely not as boisterous as the other lads.

Look at that smile! Absolutely gorgeous!!!

The first time they created the “1”, they wrote it the wrong way round – an adult had to correct them. A simple testament to the sad state of Lagos public schools, assuming they even go to school 🙁

There are so many gifted artisans around – I just loved these hand crafted miniatures. So skilful – I love the one where everyone is lining up to get a visa…one of the biggest dreams around here – to get a chance to travel abroad.
